🇮🇷Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran has not requested a ceasefire or negotiations with the United States, stating that Iran will continue defending itself amid the ongoing conflict with the administration of US President Donald Trump. In an interview on Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan, Araghchi described the war as a “war of choice” by Washington and said Iran would sustain its response “until President Trump comes to the point that this is an illegal war with no victory.” Abbas Araghchi also defended Iran’s regional military actions, saying Tehran targets only US military assets and installations in neighbouring states hosting American forces. He rejected claims that Iranian strikes hit civilian areas and argued that countries allowing US operations from their territory cannot expect Iran to remain passive. Addressing the Strait of Hormuz, Araghchi said Iran has not formally closed the waterway but confirmed that some countries have approached Tehran seeking safe passage for oil and gas vessels, with Iranian authorities permitting certain ships to transit under security guarantees. On Iran’s nuclear programme, Araghchi said around 440kg of enriched uranium reported by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is currently believed to be buried under rubble after strikes on nuclear facilities. He said recovery could occur in the future under IAEA supervision, but no plan is currently in place. The foreign minister added that Iran had previously offered to dilute its 60% enriched uranium during negotiations with US officials, though no proposals are currently on the table. He also said American detainees in Iran remain safe as long as prisons are not targeted during the conflict. ℹ️ @cbsnews - Face the Nation 📸 Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi | Sayed Hassan/Getty Images #Iran #UnitedStates #MiddleEast #Geopolitics #WorldNews

🌐Nordic leaders and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney agreed to deepen cooperation on defence, Arctic security, economic resilience and green growth at a summit in Oslo on Sunday (15 March). Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre hosted Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney alongside Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo, and Icelandic Prime Minister Kristrún Frostadóttir. Leaders said stronger coordination among Arctic and NATO allies is needed amid geopolitical tensions, climate change and evolving economic security challenges. Speaking after the meeting, Jonas Gahr Støre said the countries are “stronger together” as Arctic states facing shared security and economic challenges. Mark Carney noted that security is expanding beyond traditional defence to include critical minerals, artificial intelligence, space technology and digital infrastructure, emphasising the need for greater resilience and economic cooperation. Key developments •	Leaders reaffirmed support for NATO’s Arctic presence and joint exercises including Cold Response and Operation Nanook. •	The six countries pledged continued economic, military and humanitarian support for Ukraine. •	Cooperation will expand in critical minerals, artificial intelligence, space technology and supply chains. •	Governments will pursue green energy investment, low-carbon technologies and resilient trade networks. Leaders also committed to stronger coordination through NATO, the European Union, the World Trade Organization and the United Nations. ℹ️ government.no 📸 Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, Icelandic Prime Minister Kristrun Frostadottir, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo gather at the government's representative building in Oslo, Norway, March 15, 2026. 🇮🇷🇺🇸🇦🇪Iran has warned residents to evacuate areas around major ports in the United Arab Emirates as tensions escalate in the third week of the war between the US, alongside Israel, and Iran. Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, warned Iran could target “all oil, economic, and energy infrastructures belonging to oil companies across the region that have American shares or cooperate with America.” Iran’s joint military command also threatened strikes on cities in the UAE, alleging the US used “ports, docks and hideouts” there to launch attacks on nearby islands. Tehran provided no evidence but urged civilians to evacuate areas where it claimed US forces were sheltering. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi alleged that US strikes on Kharg Island and Abu Musa Island were launched from locations in the UAE, including Ras Al-Khaimah and an area “very close to Dubai”. He described the situation as dangerous but said Iran “will try to be careful not to attack any populated area.” Key developments •	President Donald Trump said US forces had “obliterated” military sites on Kharg Island, warning oil infrastructure could be targeted if Iran disrupts shipping. •	Trump urged allies, including the UK, China, France, Japan and South Korea, to send warships to secure the Strait of Hormuz, a route carrying roughly one-fifth of global oil supplies. •	The US military is sending 2,500 additional Marines with the amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli to the region. ℹ️ @The Associated Press 📸 Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters (Iran International) #Iran #UnitedStates #MiddleEast #Geopolitics #WorldNews

🇺🇸🇮🇷US President Donald Trump has warned Iran that its oil infrastructure on Kharg Island could be targeted ‘should Iran, or anyone else, do anything to interfere with the Free and Safe Passage of Ships through the Strait of Hormuz.’ In a social media post, Trump said US forces had “totally obliterated” military targets on the island. However, he stated that oil facilities — responsible for about 90% of Iran’s exports — were not struck. The warning comes as the conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel enters its third week, raising concerns about global oil supply. Key developments •	Trump said the US Navy will soon begin escorting tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, which carries roughly 20% of global fossil fuel supplies. •	Iran’s armed forces warned any strike on its energy infrastructure would prompt retaliation against oil facilities linked to US partners in the region. •	Iranian media reported more than 15 explosions on Kharg Island, hitting air defences, a naval base and airport facilities but not oil terminals. •	Iran continues exporting 1.1–1.5 million barrels of oil per day, with China a major buyer. ℹ️ @FRANCE 24, @Reuters 📸 A satellite image shows an oil terminal at Kharg Island, Iran, February 25, 2026. 2026 Planet Labs PBC/Handout via REUTERS #UnitedStates #Iran #MiddleEast #Geopolitics #WorldNews
